La Cocotera's tropical region offers a number of parks and terrains, ranging from the rare deciduous Pacific Slope dry forest to the picturesque coastal mangroves. The sub tropical dry forest is at 1460m elevation with more than 260 varieties of bird species and 2260 different plant species. You can also catch a cultural tour to El Salvador’s archaeological sites, such as Joya de Ceren, which was named a UN World Heritage Site in 1993 and is often called the Pompeii of America. There are also hiking excursions to local volcanoes, lakes and natural reserves.
